Vita

Jennifer Trinks has been at the Institute since December 2013.

She studied law at LMU Munich and the Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). In 2011 she passed the first state law exam in Munich and attained her Maîtrise en droit (Paris II). Following a legal traineeship (Referendariat) at the Hamburg Higher Regional Court, she passed the second state law exam in Hamburg in 2013. In 2017 Jennifer completed the one-year Master of Laws programme at Yale Law School, earning her LL.M.

Jennifer received her doctoral degree from Bucerius Law School (Hamburg) in 2020. Her dissertation, “Voting Rights for Shares in Usufruct – A Comparative Analysis of German and French Law” (in German: Stimmrechtszuordnung beim Nießbrauch an Gesellschaftsanteilen – Ein deutsch-französischer Rechtsvergleich), which she completed while at the Institute, won the 2020 Helmut Schippel Award and the Ernst Rabel Prize 2020.
