Zeitschrift für Europäisches Privatrecht

The “Zeitschrift für Europäisches Privatrecht” (ZEuP) is a leading forum exploring the Europeanization of private law and private law scholarship. The journal considers foundational topics and current developments in relation to EU private law, comparative law and legal history, legal unification, private international law, and individual European private law regimes.

The “Zeitschrift für Europäisches Privatrecht” (ZEuP) was established in 1993 and has since that time become a leading forum on the Europeanisation of private law and private law scholarship – inside the German-speaking realm and beyond. The quarterly appearing journal deals with fundamental and current developments in EU law in the areas of private law, comparative law and legal history, legal unification, private international law and individual European private law regimes.

The journal is edited by Anatol Dutta, Eva-Maria Kieninger, Heike Schweitzer, Gerhard Wagner, Marc-Philippe Weller and, on behalf of the Institute, Jürgen Basedow and Reinhard Zimmermann. It is published by the Verlag C.H. Beck in Munich, with volumes amounting to roughly 1,000 pages each year. Managerial editorship rotates among the named editors, with the result that the ZEuP editorial office is also regularly based at the Max Planck Institute.
