Vita

Philipp Hülse studied law at Berlin’s Humboldt University. He passed the First State Exam in law in September 2017, receiving a faculty award for outstanding academic performance. After his studies in Germany, he completed master’s programs at Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas (Maîtrise en Droit) and at the University of Oxford (Magister Juris), both with a focus on European and international private and business law.

As a student, Philipp Hülse received scholarship funding from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. He completed a number of internships over the course of his studies, including at the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris as well as at a human rights law firm in New Delhi. From 2018 to 2020, he clerked with the Kammergericht of Berlin; his stations included a notary public in Hamburg as well as the European Directorate of the Federal Foreign Office. He completed his clerkship in 2021 and sat for the Second State Exam the same year.

Philipp Hülse has been a research assistant at the Institute since October 2021.
