The first speaker will present a current study looking at how internal auditors (kansayaku) impact Japanese businesses in the context of corporate governance.
The second talk is dedicated to the (most recent) reform of company law in 2019, which addresses, among other topics, the role that should be played by boards and shareholders of Japanese companies within the corporate governance framework.
The third speaker will explore the effect that the recent tightening of Japanese foreign trade law is having on foreign direct investment in Japan.
Finally, the last presentation will consider whether the latest labour law reforms can achieve their goal of mitigating the negative effects that the aging of the Japanese population carries for the labour market.

The presentations and discussions will be held in English.
