Private international law and international civil procedure, competition and business law, comparative law (especially French civil and business law)
Simon Horn studied German-French law from 2013 to 2020 at the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (first state law exam 2020) and at the Université de Rennes 1 (Licence en droit 2016, Master 2 Droit européen 2020). While studying he worked at the Chair for Economic Private Law (Prof. Dr. Jochen Hoffmann), first as a student assistant and subsequently as an assistant with a bachelor’s degree. During his period of study abroad he was served as a tutor for German law at the Université de Rennes 1.
After completing his studies Simon Horn worked from 2019 to 2021 as a research assistant, first at the Chair for Economic Private Law (Prof. Dr. Jochen Hoffmann), then at the Chair for Civil Law, Private International Law and Comparative (Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Mathias Rohe, M.A., RiOLG a.D.) and finally at the Erlangen Centre for Islam and Law in Europa (EZIRE) at the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. He has been conducting research on a private international law topic since 2019 under Prof. Dr. Jochen Hoffmann and has since early 2021 been working as a legal trainee at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court in Hamburg.
Simon Horn has been employed at the Institute since April 2021.
