Vita

Michael Cremer studied law at Bucerius Law School, Hamburg, from 2013 to 2018 and at the New York University School of Law in 2015. During his studies, he worked as a student assistant under Prof. Dr. Birgit Weitemeyer (Institute for Foundation Law) and as a legal advisor at the Law Clinic at Bucerius Law School until October 2017. He received a scholarship from the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (German Academic Scholarship Foundation) from 2014 to 2020. His term abroad in New York was supported by the Linklaters Fellowship. In 2017, he and his team were awarded the Hans Soldan Prize after winning the Soldan Moot Court.

Michael Cremer passed the First State Law Examination in December 2018 and subsequently worked as a research assistant under Prof. Dr. Karsten Thorn, LL.M. (Georgetown) at the Chair of Civil Law, Private International and International Commercial Law, and Comparative Law at Bucerius Law School until September 2019. From September 2019 to July 2020, he completed a Master's degree program (Magister Juris) at the University of Oxford.

Since August 2020 he has worked at the Institute as a research assistant under Prof. Dr. Ralf Michaels. His PhD thesis is being funded by a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation.
