Before starting a new job, you will have a wide range of questions. Your contacts at the institute will be happy to help:

• If you have any questions about your work or the tasks you will be performing, please contact your future supervisor or other team contact directly. Their contact information can be found on the Institute’s homepage.
  
  

• If you have any questions about your employment contract, for instance about the term (start and end dates), pay, or working hours, please contact our HR department. Please understand that Human Resources cannot give you binding information about your anticipated net income but can only give general information about your expected gross. Information about the public employees salary schedule that applies to the Institute is available here (in German). 
  In Germany, payroll taxes and social insurance contributions are automatically deducted from an employee’s monthly salary by their employer. For information about taxes, filing personal income tax returns, and contributions to German social security, see Make it in Germany.
