Vita

Christopher Reibetanz studied law at Bucerius Law School and the University of Cambridge from 2015 to 2020; during this time he held a scholarship from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. Subsequently, he began working on his doctoral project under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Karsten Thorn, focusing on the conflict-of-law rules regarding unmarried partners. While working on his PhD, he was employed as a research assistant at the Chair for Civil Law, Private International and International Commercial Law, and Comparative Law at Bucerius Law School. From 2024 to 2026, he completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Celle, which included placements at the German Federal Ministry of Justice and the Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas.

Christopher Reibetanz has been a senior research fellow at the Institute since September 2026.
