Vita

Florian Bode studied law at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg from 2017–2023 and at Gonville & Caius College, University of Cambridge, during Michaelmas Term 2019. From 2018 to 2019 he was a Deutschlandstipendium fellow at Bucerius Law School and from 2019 to 2023 received fellowships from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation as well as from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom. He passed his First State Law Examination in 2023.

From 2019–2023 he was a student assistant and since 2023 has been a research associate at the Institute under Prof Dr Dr hc mult Reinhard Zimmerman.

Florian Bode’s doctoral thesis deals with the concept and theory of private property in Germany, England and the USA. The project is funded by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation.

In July and August 2024, Florian Bode conducted research at the University of Cambridge. During the Hilary Term of 2025, he conducted research as a Visiting Graduate Scholar at St Catherine’s College, University of Oxford. For the Autumn/Winter Term of 2025/26, he was a Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School (Faculty Sponsor: Henry E. Smith).
