The new Belgian Law of Delict – Taking the Temperature of Emerging Tendencies
Conference
- Date: Mar 17, 2025
- Time: 02:00 PM (Local Time Germany)
- Location: hybrid event
About the conference:
In the context of the vast reform project of the Belgian Civil Code, the law of delict has been the latest part that has successfully been made law (entry into force on January 1st, 2025). Thereby, the Belgian legislature has outrun the French reform project and is the currently most recent re-codification of law of delict. The new law of delict presents some interesting features presenting ample material to take the temperature of current trends in the field. To get a better insight of some of the most innovative features of the Belgian reform project, The Max Planck Institute for comparative and international private law, Hamburg, hosts a discussion afternoon on the new Belgian law of delicts.
The presentations and the discussion will be held in English.
The lecture will be held as a hybrid event, both on site at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Mittelweg 187, 20148 Hamburg, and as a video conference via Zoom.
