Interdisciplinary Workshop on Fashion, Sustainability and Private (International) Law

at Graduate Institute in Geneva

On 18 June 2026, a rich interdisciplinary exchange unfolded at our Fashion’s PLACE workshop at the Graduate Institute in Geneva.

The workshop brought together researchers, practioners and policymakers to discuss how private (international) law can engage with the challenges of circularity in the fashion industry.

Our speakers brought valuable perspectives from legal scholarship, policy practice and international development fostered a truly interdisciplinary dialogue. Renée Ramona Robinson (PhD Researcher, Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne & Institut Français de la Mode) presented on property, responsibility and the unimagined in the legal architecture of fashion Dr. Katia Dayan (Chief Research Officer, Post Growth Fashion Agency) presented insights into policy regulation in circular fashion practice and Camila Villas (Programme Officer, International Trade Centre) reflected on the transformation of SME's towards a more sustainable and circular fashion industry. Those different approaches and experiences met in a way that generated new questions and broadened perspectives on circular fashion and Private (International) Law.

We are looking forward to continuing the conversation as the project develops!
