Jennifer Trinks named professor at the BSP Business and Law School

Jennifer Trinks, former senior research fellow at the Institute, has been appointed as professor at the BSP Business and Law School – Hochschule für Management und Recht. Beginning in the summer semester 2026, she will assume the position of Professor of Civil Law and Business Law at the Law Faculty on the Hamburg campus.

Prof. Dr. Jennifer Trinks, LL.M. (Yale) studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and the Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). In 2011 she sat for the first state law exam in Munich and also attained her Maîtrise en droit (Paris II). Thereafter, she completed her legal traineeship (Referendariat), sat for the second state exam for law in Hamburg, and began work as a researcher at the Institute. In 2017 she was awarded her Master of Laws (LL.M.) at Yale Law School. Subsequently, she earned her doctorate and her habilitation from Bucerius Law School, in 2020 and 2025 respectively. In the summer semester 2025 she served as acting professor of civil law, business law, and banking law at the Goethe University Frankfurt.

The private and state-accredited BSP Business and Law School has its central campus in Berlin. Since 2013 it has operated a second campus in the HafenCity Hamburg, where it has since 2025 been offering a course of study leading to the first state exam in law.
