Conference for Young Scholars on Sustainability and Law

The 5th Young Sustainability Law Conference (JNR 2026) will take place from July 2-3 2026 in Istanbul. The conference provides a forum for young scholars working on sustainability and law to present their research, impact the legal discourse, and connect with fellow peers.

We are an interdisciplinary and intradisciplinary team of scholars from the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Koç University Law School, the University of Amsterdam, Bocconi University, Sapienza University of Rome and the University of Bari. After four successful conferences in recent years in Hamburg, Vienna, Halle, and Munich, we have taken on the task of providing a platform and highlighting the importance of sustainability in the legal discourse.

With the JNR 2026, we aim to take an integrated approach to sustainability law, bringing together insights from diverse legal systems, disciplines, and related fields of science. By combining expertise, we seek to foster a holistic view of sustainability that pushes beyond conventional boundaries and inspires new ways of thinking within the legal domain. The JNR 2026 provides a unique platform to present your research, share knowledge and engage in inspiring dialogue across disciplines. We look forward to a lively participation and exciting presentations!
