Elke Heinrich-Pendl hired by the Sigmund Freud Private University in Vienna

Elke Heinrich-Pendl, alumna senior research fellow of the Institute, has accepted a professorship for private law at the Sigmund Freud Private University (SFU) in Vienna, to begin in the 2024 winter semester.

Prof. Dr. Elke Heinrich-Pendl studied law at the University of Graz and completed her doctoral studies there in 2013. She worked as a researcher at the Institute from 2013 to 2023 and habilitated through Bucerius Law School in the subjects of civil law, company law, banking law, and comparative law. She taught at Bucerius Law School from 2017 to 2021. She then held acting professorships at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the University of Bonn. Before going to Vienna, she was on the law faculty at Leipzig as acting professor of civil law and German, European, and international commercial law.

Founded in Vienna in 2003, SFU operates as a trans-European university, with further campuses in Berlin, Linz, Ljubljana, Milan, and Paris. In addition to the law faculty there, the Vienna campus is home to faculties of medicine, psychology, psychotherapy as well as an academy for continuing education.
