Current Legal Issues under a Different Lens

September 20, 2024

A new Institute lecture series titled “Gegenwartsdebatten” [Current Debates] is dedicated to presenting non-legal perspectives on current Institute research topics. Toward this end, the Institute is inviting representatives from the social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences to participate in transdisciplinary dialogue. In the inaugural lecture on 11 October 2024, Rainer Diaz-Bohne, Professor of Sociology at the University of Lucerne, will hold a talk titled “Diskursanalyse mit Foucault” [Discourse Analysis with Foucault].

“With this new format, the Institute is opening its doors to non-legal perspectives on our fields of research,” says Anne Röthel, Managing Director of the Institute and initiator of the series. “We want to know how other disciplines look at legal topics and engage in dialogue with researchers from the social sciences, humanities, and natural sciences.”

The shift in perspective is also intended to open space for an audience extending beyond academic circles. The “Current Debates” lecture series is therefore aimed at all interested individuals.
