Christine Toman studied law at the University of Passau and the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin from 2010 to 2014. After passing the first state law exam in 2015 and earning her Maîtrise en droit at the Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II), she completed a Master of Laws (Transnational Law) at King’s College London from 2015 to 2016.

Christine Toman has received grants from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and was honoured with the Graduate Award of the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 2016. From 2016 to 2018, she was a legal trainee (Rechtsreferendarin) at the Hamburg Higher Regional Court with postings at the Hague Conference on Private International Law and the European Commission Directorate-General for Environment. She then passed the second state law exam in 2019.
