Vita

Christian Kolb has been a research assistant at the Institute since February 2018 and a doctoral candidate since 2020. In 2015 he earned an LL.B. in English Law and German Law from King’s College London, and in 2017 he was awarded a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Chicago. During his programme of study he was a scholarship recipient of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation, and in 2017 he was awarded a Gerd Bucerius-LL.M.-Scholarship of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation as well as an LL.M.-Scholarship of the German Academic Exchange Service.

In 2012 he received both the “English Public Law” faculty award as well as the King’s myScholarship award. In 2013 he was recipient of the “English Tort Law” faculty award.

In 2016 he sat for the first state law exam at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Between 2017 and 2019 he completed his legal traineeship (Referendariat) at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court (traineeship included stations at the company law division of the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court, Milbank LLP and the General Consulate in Hong Kong).
