Vita

Valentin holds a Master degree in French General Private Law from the Université de Caen, a Master degree in International, European and Comparative Law from the Libera Università Maria Ss. Assunta of Rome Erasmus, a MA in English and North-American Business Law and a Ph.D. in Comparative Private Law from the Sorbonne Law School. His research is focused on the French, English, and German law of unjust enrichment, quasi-contracts, and restitution.

He was a visiting researcher at the Institute of European and Comparative Law of the University of Oxford on a fellowship of the French Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Research (2019-2020) and the University of Melbourne Law School on a Max Planck Law fellowship (Feb. to June 2023).

He worked as a lecturer in European Union Law at the Institut Catholique de Lille and in Introduction to French Law at the Sorbonne. He was the research assistant of Emeritus Prof. Geneviève Viney (Sorbonne). He was one of the creators of the Sorbonne Law Review and served as its first editor-in-chief.

Valentin was at the Institute from 2020 to 2023.
