About the Topic:
The general objective
of the talk
is to provide
insights into the development of
arbitration in Brazil,
as well as
the reasons why arbitration has become an efficient and an extremely
frequent tool for dispute resolution
of contractual matters
in the country.
The current status of arbitration and its future challenges will also be
an object of the debate.
About the Speaker:
Ms. Beneti has recently started her own practice in São Paulo, Brazil, focusing on international and domestic arbitration and litigation, working both as arbitrator and counsel. She holds an LL.M. degree from the LSE –The London School of Economics and Political Science –University of London (2002) (scholarship by the British Council -UK) in Arbitration andCivil Procedure and a Bachelor Degree in Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP). She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Private International Law at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil, and a Guest researcher at the Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Privatrecht, Hamburg, Germany.
