Cooperation with the DRJI

Since 2010 the Max Planck Institute has been a member of the German-Russian Lawyers’ Association (Deutsch-Russisches Juristisches Institut (DRJI)). As a central component of the cooperative effort, the Institute’s Unit on Russia/CIS participates in the summer school programme on German law. The programme is organised by the DRJI and offers law students from Russia and other CIS-states a Russian-language introduction to German law. The individual lectures take place at various German institutes, including at the MPI.

Supervision of DAAD Scholarship Recipients

Eugenia Kurzynsky-Singer supervised junior researchers from CIS countries who are working on their own research here at the Institute under the auspices of a German Academic Exchange (DAAD) scholarship. From June-September 2012, Dr. Levan Gottua (Georgia) completed research on the enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards in Georgia. Since October 2012, Ada Kachan has been performing work on her research topic: “Self-regulating Organisations: Ukrainian and International Experiences”.
