Academic Career:

Franz Bauer studied law at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and the University of Oxford (Diploma in Legal Studies, 2013). From 2010 to 2016 he received a scholarship from the Max Weber Program of the State of Bavaria. After completing his first state exam in law in 2016, he earned a master’s degree (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School. From 2017 to 2019 he was a legal trainee (Referendar) at the Munich Higher Regional Court (Oberlandsgericht); the traineeship included positions at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg (with Advocate-General Prof. Dr. Juliane Kokott) and the German Embassy in Ottawa. From 2011 to 2019 he worked as student assistant and later as research assistant for Prof. Dr. Hans Christoph Grigoleit at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.

Franz Bauer joined the Institute as research assistant in December 2019.
