Samuel Fulli-Lemaire appointed professor at the University of Strasbourg

Samuel Fulli-Lemaire, former research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, has been appointed professor of private law and criminal law at the University of Strasbourg. He assumed this position on 1 September 2019, after having achieved first place in the agrégation, the centralised selection process for law professorships in France.

Prof. Dr. Samuel Fulli-Lemaire was a research fellow in the working group of Prof. Dr. Reinhard Zimmermann from 2015 to 2018. While at the Institute, he completed a dissertation in the area of international family law at Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). For his dissertation “Le droit international privé de la famille à l’épreuve de l’impératif de reconnaissance des situations” (Rethinking the Recognition of Family Relationships in Private International Law), Samuel Fulli-Lemaire has received multiple awards, including the doctoral prize of the Chancellerie des universités de Paris.

After completing his dissertation, Samuel Fulli-Lemaire accepted a post as Maître de conférences en droit privé at Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II) on 1 September 2018. Through his success in the agrégration, which is comprised of a multi-step examination process, he was offered the professorship in Strasbourg just one year later.
