Opening of the South East European Lawschool Network:
25.3.2011 - The Max Planck Institute was invited to the official opening of SEELS. The opening was reported by the media in the region. Currently the network offers a joint master program.

Academic Career:

1993-1998 study of law at the University of Zurich, 1998-2000 research assistant under Professor Heinz Rey at the University of Zurich, 1999 three-month research stay in Cambridge, 2001-2002 research stay at the MPI-Hamburg for work on doctoral dissertation "Auslegung und Ergänzung von Verträgen – Vertragliche Nebenpflichten im englischen und schweizerischen Recht" (scholarship holder of the SNF and the Zürcher Hochschulverein), 2002-2003 internship as a law clerk with the law firm Wenger & Vieli AG in Zurich, 2004 acceptance of doctoral dissertation by the law faculty of the University of Zurich, 2004 admission to the bar in the Canton of Zurich, 2005-2007 practice of law at Baker & McKenzie Zurich, since 2004 lecturer at the law faculty of the University of Lucerne, 2006 and 2009 acknowledged for "outstanding teaching performance" by the law faculty of the University of Lucerne, 2007-2010 research stay at the MPI-Hamburg for work on post-doctoral dissertation (Habilitationsschrift) "Gläubigerschutz in Ost und West" (Scholarship holder of the SNF as well as the junior scholar support program (Nachwuchsförderungskommission) of the University of Zurich), 2008 proposed project for post-doctoral dissertation approved for development (Ermunterungsbeschluss) by the law faculty of the University of Lucerne, since October 2010 senior research fellow at the Institute.

Professional Activities and Memberships:
Vice-President of the University-of-Belgrade-affiliated association "Harmonius", whose aim is the harmonisation of the laws of the countries in South Eastern Europe with international law (harmonisation with the law of the EU as well as with the general principles of international law). Further aims of the association are connecting young academcis of the region of South East Europe, improving the law and legal education as well as increasing societal awareness for the importance of the rule of law as well as fundamental legal, ethical and cultural values.

Member of the association "Friends of the Hamburg Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law e.V.“
