Born 30 May 1953; General university studies at the Leibniz-Kolleg Tübingen, 1973/74; Legal studies at the University of Tübingen and the University of Geneva (1975/76); LL.M. completed at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Philadelphia, Pa. 1978/79; Doctorate in law completed at the University of Hamburg 1989; Postdoctoral lecture qualification in the field of law completed at the University of Hamburg 2000; Approved areas of teaching: Civil Law, Commercial Law, Business Law, European Law, Private International Law and Comparative Law, Lecturer in Civil Law, University of Hamburg Winter Semester 1998/ 99 through Summer Semester 2000; Acting Professor in Civil Law, Commercial Law, Company Law and Business Law, University of Leipzig Summer Semester 2001. Institute staff member since September 1981.
