Postgraduate Scholarship Program "Comparative Legal Research on Eurasian Law"

The Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law with the support of the Volkswagen Foundation grants a new scholarship program to young legal scientists from Caucasian and Central Asian countries. During a nine month stay they should prepare comparative publications on a self–chosen topic in the sphere of civil law of their countries. The objective of the program is to introduce Western, particularly German law, to the scholarship recipients and, moreover, to provide them with opportunities to establish international contacts and to participate in international debate.

A total of nine scholarships are granted. The first group was welcomed by the Institute on 14th of April 2010. The second group arrived at the Institute on 1st of January 2011. The third group began its research project on 1st of October 2011. Iroda Djuraeva and Ketevan Giogishvili will write their research in the sphere of consumer and international law.
