Inauguration of the new Directorate at the MPI for Private Law

On 9 September 2009 a new era of leadership will be commemorated at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. Wolfgang Schön, Vice-President of the Max Planck Society will officially bid farewell to Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Klaus J. Hopt, Director at the Institute since 1995 (Director Emeritus since 2008) and welcome his successor Prof. Dr. Holger Fleischer. As part of the academic ceremonies, Prof. Hopt will offer a look back at his work at the Institute and career in legal research. Prof. Fleischer will then turn to the current and future questions posed by company law and securities regulation.
