Göttinger Summer Seminar on Chinese Law

In cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law and the German-Chinese Jurists' Association, the German-Chinese Institute of Law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen will offer a summer seminar on Chinese law from 18 - 22 July 2011.The program includes a 16-hour lecture course on "Chinese Business Law" which will be instructed by Dr. Knut Benjamin Pißler . Dr. Pißler is a senior research fellow of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law and has since 2007 served as a lecturer with the law faculty of the Georg-August University Göttingen. In addition to the lecture component, numerous talks on further topics of Chinese private and public law will be featured.
The program aims to provide the participants with an introduction into Chinese law and legal practice. Moreover, the summer seminar will help to foster interaction at both the professional and personal levels in addition to offering a discussion forum for current topics in Chinese law and legal culture.
