George A. Bermann On Wednesday, 25 May 2011, Professor George Bermann (Columbia Law School) will hold a lecture at the Institute titled "'Gateway' Issues in International Commercial Arbitration".

Professor Dr. h.c. George A. Bermann has since 1975 been an instructor at the Columbia Law School in New York City. Additionally, Professor Bermann has regularly taught at the Europa-Kolleg Brügge (Belgium), at the Paris I and Paris II Universities as well as at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris. He is the leading reporter for American Law Institute's current Restatement Third – The U.S. Law of International Commercial Arbitration. He is an expert in the fields of European Union Law, Comparative Law, Transnational Litigation and Arbitration, and WTO Dispute Resolution.
