The volume's authors take on many of the fields of interest which Klaus J. Hopt has examined over the course of his academic career. Accordingly, in addition to discussions on corporate governance and European company law, the volume contains contributions analysing, for example, current challenges in the areas of capital market law and corporate takeover.The wide spectrum of topics reflects the interdisciplinary and complementary research interests characterising the research associates who have been a part of Klaus J. Hopt's scholastic family. Thus, the work testifies to the unique ability of Klaus J. Hopt to bring together individuals with diverse research interests and forge them into an integrated and mutually supportive academic community.
The volume acknowledges the exemplary engagement with which Klaus J. Hopt has served as mentor and role model during his Hamburg years. As shared in the introduction, the authors seek to express "... heartfelt thanks, deep respect and a desire to give something back in return for the support bestowed upon us."
