Dr. Sonja Meier, LL.M. (London) appointed as professor

Effective 12 November 2009, Dr. Sonja Meier, LL.M. (London) was appointed professor of law by the president of the Philipps-Universität Marburg. The former research fellow of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law will hold a chair for Civil Law and European Legal History.With the completion of her work "Gesamtschulden. Entstehung und Regress in historischer und vergleichender Perspektive" (Joint and Several Obligations: Development and Recourse in a Historical and Comparative Perspective), Sonja Meier was awarded her post-doctoral degree (habilitation) at the University of Regensburg in July 2009 and qualified to lecture in the fields of Civil Law, Roman Law, European Legal History and Comparative Law.
