Dr. Wolfgang Wurmnest appointed as professor

The president of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hannover has appointed Dr. Wolfgang Wurmnest, LL.M., to a professorship in the faculty of law. The former research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law will hold a chair in the fields of German and European Private Law and Economic Law, Private International Law and Comparative Law.Wolfgang Wurmnest completed his doctorate in 2002 at the University of Hamburg. Beginning in 2002 he served as a research fellow under Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Basedow and he completed his post-doctoral dissertation (habilitation) in 2009 with the work „Marktmacht und Verdrängungsmissbrauch – Eine rechtsvergleichende Neubestimmung des Verhältnisses von Recht und Ökonomik in der Missbrauchsaufsicht über marktbeherrschende Unternehmen“.
