07.05.2009
In conferring the award on Prof. Dr. Jan von Hein, the Deutsches Aktieninstitut (DAI) is recognising the work of a longtime research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. The DAI Hochschulpreis has for 14 years been bestowed on legal and economic scholars whose dissertations and habilitations (post-doctoral theses) address themes involving the stock market. The DAI describes the award as honouring the best scientific dissertations promoting stocks as an investment tool or source of corporate financing. The prize aims to further the bond between financial practice and the work of the DAI on one side, and the role of academic research on the other.
Prof. Dr. Jan von Hein, senior research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law until 2007, received first prize in the category of Habilitations and Dissertations.
