Reinhard Zimmermann Elected as Chair of the Association of Professors in Private Law
Hamburg, 6 October 2011 –Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhard Zimmermann, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, is the new chairperson of the Zivilrechtslehrervereinigung (Association of Professors in Private Law). He was elected to this position on 27 September 2011 at an Association conference in Vienna by his professorial colleagues active in the field of private law at German-speaking universities. In this capacity he will assume the role previously held by the Association's long-time chair, Prof. Dr. Martin Henssler.

Legal study offers first comprehensive overview of liability issues in connection with the Fukushima nuclear accident
With expected damage claims estimated as high as 90 billion Euros, the nuclear accident in Fukushima represents the largest liability case in Japanese history. Institute Summer Programs Support the Next Generation of International Legal Scholars
Hamburg, 12 August 2010 – With its sponsorship of two summer programs, the Institute reaffirms its commitment to junior researchers from around the globe.
