Priv.-Doz. Dr. Giesela Rühl, former research fellow at the Institute, has been called to the law faculty at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena for a professorship in civil law, private international law and comparative law.After completing her studies in Bonn, Lausanne and Berkeley, Giesela Rühl was a research fellow at the Institute from 2005-2008. In February 2010 she earned her lecture qualification with her post-doctoral thesis titled "Statut und Effizienz. Ökonomische Überlegungen zum Internationalen Privatrecht" (Legislation and Efficiency: Economic Perspectives on Private International Law). Subsequently, she sat as guest professsor at the University of Illinois (USA) and served as acting professor at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena.
